These summer performances are definite must-sees.

THE BOOK OF MORMON 

Called “the best musical of this century” by The New York Times and a nine-time Tony Award-winning Best Musical, The Book of Mormon will hit Bass Hall’s stage in July. The comedy follows an unlikely pair of missionaries who travel to Uganda to spread the word on their faith. Note that the show contains explicit language.

MISS MOLLY

Miss Molly pays homage to Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest. Writer Christine Carmela transports audiences back to Victorian England and adds a twist. She incorporates modern references while keeping the charm and humor for which Wilde is known. Carmela drafted Miss Molly while in college at TCU and has since made an off-Broadway debut at SoHo Rep. Evan Michael Woods will make his directorial debut.

I WANNA F*CKING TEAR YOU APART

This comedy focuses on best friends and roommates Sam and Leo. The duo is an unbreakable team until a new friend enters the picture. Doubt creeps in and a secret is about to be revealed that will shatter the bond. The play explores the many complications of friendship. It is intended for mature audiences.

THE SOUND OF MUSIC

Fort Worth’s classical theater company brings the beloved musical to center stage. Set in 1938 Austria, it follows the path of Maria, a young governess, as she helps a broken family find joy through music while the Nazis rise to power.
