The Tarrant Area Food Bank noticed Taylor Swift made big donations to food banks in Las Vegas and Phoenix before tour stops there, so it renamed itself the “Taylor Area Food Bank” and invited the musician to stop by for a visit ahead of her three shows at Arlington’s AT&T Stadium this weekend.
Swift noticed. Her publicist notified the Tarrant Area Food Bank she couldn’t stop by, but Swift made a big gift to the food bank, it said Thursday.
The food bank declined through spokesman Michael Polydoroff to say how much Swift gave, but the food bank said in a release “musician Taylor Swift has just ensured thousands of North Texans in the Tarrant area will be able to feed their families this week by making a generous contribution to the Tarrant Area Food Bank.”
Poiydoroff said Swift “politely declined” the food bank’s invitation to visit, due to other commitments. The food bank called Swift a “Hunger Hero.”
“Our grassroots outreach is one of the reasons we were able to get that phone call,” Polydoroff said.
