Noodle chain Wagamama comes to Dallas
Story and photography by Michael Hiller
Wagamama, a London-born noodle chain, has landed in Dallas. The Japanese-inspired brand is widely embraced for its high-quality offerings, affordable prices, communal tables and open kitchen (Momofuku founder David Chang credits a meal at Wagamama as motivating him to become a chef.) The menu here feels plucked from a greatest hits album of Indo-Chinese crowdpleasers. The shirodashi pork ramen is uncommonly good, but so are Wagamama’s chicken katsu curry, steamed bao buns, gyoza, and pork belly marinated in Korean bulgogi sauce. Finding the parking garage can be tricky (it’s up an unmarked ramp at The Link at Uptown, across from Happiest Hour), but it’s complimentary (with restaurant validation), so it’s worth the trouble.
