Dallas chef Kent Rathbun launches Rathbun’s Curbside BBQ at Klyde Warren Park

Kent Rathbun’s acclaimed barbecue pop-up has found a new home at Klyde Warren Park after outgrowing its Katy Trail location. At Rathbun’s Curbside BBQ, the Dallas chef and his team serve exceptional smoked meats slow-cooked in a trio of wood-fired smokers. “Calling it a curbside barbecue is a huge understatement,” Rathbun says of the operation, where scratch sauces, rubs and pickles elevate the fare. The semipermanent trailer operates Thursdays through Sundays from 8 a.m. until 8 p.m. Breakfast tacos kick off the early menu, which progresses throughout the day to include pecan-smoked wagyu beef ribs, beef tenderloin, brisket, jalapeño-cheddar sausages, smoked turkey breast and cedar plank salmon, plus sides like aged gouda mac and cheese, baked potato salad and granny smith apple coleslaw.

NDA Brasserie

NDA Brasserie, the latest culinary venture from chef Taylor Kearney and his culinary team, has opened its doors in Dallas’ Harwood District, focusing exclusively on breakfast and lunch. Kearney, who has been instrumental in shaping Harwood’s dining scene since 2019, aims to offer a diverse menu that caters to early risers and midday diners alike. Current highlights include classic eggs Benedict, a blackened shrimp po’ boy and The NDA Burger, constructed on a soft challah bun with Harwood’s own wagyu beef, a fried egg, thick cut bacon and “secret sauce,” is Kearney’s riff on Chicago’s famous Au Cheval cheeseburger. The kicker? Kearney’s is even better.

Paparazzi Chophouse

Paparazzi Chophouse, a new addition to Dallas’ Deep Ellum, opened last month in the former Harper’s space. The clubstaurant, from Milkshake Concepts, promises to blend the glitz and glamour of 1930s Hollywood with a modern steakhouse and champagne lounge experience. In addition to prime steaks, culinary director Rodman Shields’ menu features Southern-inspired dishes such as candied bacon, cedar-plank grilled salmon with corn succotash and lobster roll sliders. Other notable offerings include “honey-stung” fried chicken, seafood-stuffed flounder and braised beef short ribs.
