Behind the Scenes of the 360West Fall Fashion Shoot
Hours before sunrise on a balmy morning in early September, 360West’s fashion team assembled in the parking lot of the Grapevine Mills mall, awaiting entry into another world. The Meow Wolf world.
Photoshoot producer and stylist Jenny B. Davis knew she wanted to bring the drama to the fall fashion feature and cover shoot, and Meow Wolf’s fantastical, artist-designed rooms offered an unparalleled immersive experience that perfectly complemented the season’s most important trends.
Planning started over the summer with photographer Samantha Jane scouting every room, hallway and hidden passage throughout Meow Wolf’s 30,000-square-foot space to unite location and lighting with Davis’ fashion selects. The intensive preplanning was necessary — the entire shoot had to wrap in the morning hours before Meow Wolf opened for business.
At every step, the team was guided by Connor Gray, Meow Wolf’s regional public relations manager. He and his team managed logistics, obtained artist permissions for every installation space appearing in our photos, and generally made the shoot possible. Model Mikayla Rogers was the muse who brought the vision to life, illuminated by the hair and makeup talents of the incomparable Walter Fuentes.
Throughout the shoot, Davis was proud to include local retailers and designers. For example, the custom denim creations of fashion designer Braylee Flaska are featured in two images. A native of Mineral Wells, Flaska studied fashion design at University of North Texas before launching her eponymous line. In addition to bespoke pieces, her collection of denim jackets can be found at Chieffalo Americana’s Bowie House location. (Fun fact: Flaska is also a talented stylist and assisted on this shoot.) Deseri luxury handbags are also showcased in the shoot. Dallas-based Deseri Kelley founded the lifestyle brand in 2022 after a career in education and years spent living in Europe, and her bags and jewelry can be found online and at her shop in Galleria Dallas.
Another fun fact: This shoot also features connections to New York Fashion Week. Davis pulled the “Growing Stars Shift Dress” directly from Christian Cowan, and the day after she returned it to the showroom, she was on a plane headed for New York, where she had the opportunity to sit front row at his spring 2025 runway show. Flaska was also in New York for NYFW, and she was at many of the biggest shows, including the Alaïa show at the Guggenheim Museum (yes, she saw Rihanna!). Hopefully this shoot will inspire readers to approach this new fashion season as an adventure!
