CHRISTMAS JINGLE RUDOLPH RUN 5K/10K/13.1

The Christmas Jingle Rudolph Run offers a chance to extend the holiday into the final days of December. The festive event takes participants through Trinity Park on a course lined with holiday decorations, from twinkling lights to festive wreaths. With three race lengths to choose from — 5K, 10K, or half marathon — there’s a course suited for all fitness levels. The race start time is on a first-come, first-serve basis with groups going at 7:30 a.m., 8 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. Participants are encouraged to dress in holiday-themed attire, whether it’s a reindeer antler headband or a Santa suit. GINGERBREAD LANE 5K & 10K

Fitness meets festivity at the Gingerbread Lane 5K & 10K, an annual holiday-themed race at Trinity Park. Participants run through scenic routes decorated with holiday lights, gingerbread cutouts and other themed decor for an event as visually fun as it is physically rewarding. After crossing the finish line, event coordinators treat the runners to gingerbread cookies, hot cocoa and other goodies for their efforts. Whether you’re a serious runner or just looking for a fun holiday activity, this race is a great way to stay active while embracing the holidays. The holiday classic “Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas! The Musical” is coming to Fort Worth. PARADE OF LIGHTS

The 42nd annual Parade of Lights sponsored by GM Financial returns to Downtown Fort Worth. Texas’ largest illuminated holiday parade will start at 6 p.m. at the intersection of Weatherford and Throckmorton Streets. A sold-out crowd is expected. The 1.59-mile route will feature professionally designed floats, marching bands, antique cars, equestrian units, horse-drawn carriages and carolers. Of course, Santa and Mrs. Claus are scheduled to attend the parade. The reigning World Series champion Texas Rangers will serve as Grand Marshal. “Street Seats” are available for purchase online and cost $17.50 for adults and $15 for children.
