The Texas Ballet Theater closes out the year with 19 performances of the holiday classic in Fort Worth, having already logged eight shows in Dallas. Dancers perform multiple roles, with some stepping into new characters for the first time under the direction of acting artistic director Tim O’Keefe. The Nutty Nutcracker, the dancers’ comedic interpretation of the original, is one night only, Dec. 16, in Fort Worth. (This is the final performance for The Nutty as TBT looks to create new programming under the leadership of O’Keefe.) The magic of the ballet includes not only gorgeous costumes and sets, the familiar score, and lords and ladies leaping, but snowfall inside Bass Performance Hall. The Dec. 3, 10 and 17 matinees also have the option of a pre-show Kingdom of Sweets activity area, which includes crafts, coloring and take-home swag. Through Dec. 24
