Carter Bowden Antiques back on the “bricks”

After a brief hiatus — long enough to get his name off the awning and the building — the longtime Fort Worth art and antiques dealer has settled into his new space on Camp Bowie Boulevard. A change of ownership at his previous location led Carter Bowden to make the move, one he hopes will be his last. (Jessica McIntyre Interiors has moved into Bowden’s former spot; he took over her location.) In setting up shop, Bowden has devoted “rooms” to his collection of Fort Worth Circle artists and specifically to George Grammer, one of the best-known Circle painters. Expect the signature eclectic assortment of silver, collectibles, heirlooms and other finds that make Bowden’s place a perfect fit for the mini antiques row on the same block.

Summer Classics furniture opening in Southlake

With the demand still high for patio gear, this outdoor furniture brand’s timing is good for the opening this August of its first Tarrant County store, in Southlake Town Square. Founded in 1978, the company set the standard for durable and comfortable patio furniture before outdoor living rooms were a thing. Until the mid-’90s, the furniture was sold by Crate & Barrel, Williams Sonoma, Restoration Hardware and Neiman Marcus. In 2000, the company expanded into its own stores, adding UV-resistant resin wicker plumped up with its Dream Cushions in outdoor performance fabrics. At the new store, you’ll find outdoor furniture in harvested teak, aluminum and wicker as well as select pieces from Gabby, the company’s indoor line.

Modern Maison on the move

Fort Worth’s only authorized “stockist” of premium Farrow & Ball paint — along with a stellar collection of wallpaper and fabrics — has a new home. They’ve left a tiny space off of Magnolia Avenue and headed west to a showroom near Benbrook’s traffic circle. Follow them on Facebook, facebook.com/modernmaisoninteriors, for updates.
