Watch that space: Gucci arrives in Fort Worth
With a projected late September opening, Gucci’s store in The Shops at Clearfork is a hive of activity. The 4,500-square-foot boutique offers men’s and women’s shoes, handbags (we love the Attache line), luggage, small leather goods, jewelry, watches and eyewear. Expect the store’s interior to reflect the brand’s aesthetic: fashionable, dramatic and playful. This is the brand’s seventh store in Texas.

Ida Mae Home is ready to dress your bed and more
The renovated 1940s house reimagined as a retail shop stocks locally made decorative pillows, quilts, comforters and duvets, along with a nice selection of decor. The classic-to-quirky inventory reflects the vision of owner Kristin Kiseljack, who named the business in honor of her grandmother, a lifelong quilter. Bedding is made to order by Ida Mae’s Fort Worth manufacturer, but there are plenty of samples of prints and patterns on hand for shoppers to peruse. The nicely priced pillows are sold in-store and include everything from holiday themes to graphic bark cloth designs in modern black and white. Decor includes prints from artist Dolan Geiman, candles from local makers including Winton + Waits, beautiful leather-handled tote bags, ranch-inspired tableware and more.
