What you will find at upscale Canadian chain “JOEY”

The first DFW location of this upscale Canadian chain now anchors an entrance to NorthPark Center, occupying the former Seasons 52 spot.
Casually elegant, the convivial space is open, airy and packed with colorful art. The menu feels just as vibrant, but nothing strays too far from a typical American palate.
Complementary bubbles and a plate of Korean fried cauliflower, glazed in sweet chile-miso, are good places to start. Begin with the house salad, a toss of fresh greens, toasted almonds and feta cheese.
Then, seriously consider either seafood tacos (corn tortillas filled with fried cod and shrimp, lettuce and guacamole) or the 6-ounce prime sirloin steak frites.
Pace yourself; you’ll be back — probably for the food, but definitely for the exceedingly friendly service, which ranks among the most amiable in town.
