Atop the Mezzanine Terrace at 235 Throckmorton Street, Fort Worthians can find an elevated movie viewing experience.

Twinkling cafe lights and a vibey lounge welcome guests to the Fort Worth Rooftop Cinema Club.

What started in London as a dreamy idea of watching movies under the stars on a city rooftop has grown into an international experience that’s part cinema and part social lounge. Rooftop Cinema Club has taken its open-air screenings to the heart of Fort Worth.

The club found a perfect fit in Fort Worth’s vibrant downtown after successful launches in Chicago and Houston.

“Fort Worth was the next natural step: a cultural, food-loving city with booming nightlife and tight-knit neighborhoods,” says Nick Samero, Director of Operations at Rooftop Cinema Club. “Our team scouted venues in Sundance Square and the West 7th corridor, fell in love with that downtown skyline, and knew Fort Worth was hungry for a new way to watch movies — al fresco, above the bustle with a cocktail in hand.”

Moviegoers can also enjoy wine, beer and locally inspired snacks, such as brisket nachos. The club also boasts comfy Adirondack seats and individual state-of-the-art headphones.

Rooftop Cinema Club chooses their movie lineup by mixing crowd-pleasers, cult classics, nostalgic gems and adding some Rooftop magic.

“We look at seasonal vibes, fan-favorite franchises, local cultural moments — think Dia de los Muertos, Pride, Summerween (horror films in the summer) or Besties for the Resties,” says Samero. “Every month’s lineup is curated to balance big blockbusters and feel-good favorites with surprise midnight-screen gems.”

RCC also hosts dog-friendly “Wooftop” screenings and family-friendly screenings (usually on Saturday or Sunday mornings throughout the month), making room on the rooftop for movie lovers of all ages — and their pups.
