Sipping Season
By Meda Kessler
If you don’t want to hire a bartender or bother with making a variety of cocktails, serve a festive punch to your guests. This bourbon-based recipe calls for just a few ingredients and can easily be doubled. You also can leave out the alcohol for a booze-free option.
Cranberry Bourbon Punch
Makes 8 cups
- 4 cups sparkling cranberry juice, see Note
- 2 cups bourbon
- 1 cup orange juice, freshly squeezed, see Note
- 1 cup lemon juice, freshly squeezed, see Note
- 2 lemons, thinly sliced
- 2 oranges, thinly sliced
- 1 cup whole cranberries
- 4 cinnamon sticks
- Rosemary sprigs
Note Fresh orange and lemon juice is best, but use the premade stuff to save time. If you can’t find sparkling cranberry juice, make your own using a mix of club soda and regular cranberry juice.
In a clear glass punch bowl, combine all liquid ingredients and gently stir. Taste and adjust as desired.
Float lemon and orange slices and cranberries on top. Add 4 sticks of cinnamon.
To serve, pour punch over ice and garnish with a sprig of rosemary.
