LONESOME DOVE, THE MINISERIES: DRAMATIC PHOTOGRAPHS BY BILL WITTLIFF

The Southlake Historical Society’s annual Town Hall summer exhibit features 50 framed photographs taken by Bill Wittliff while serving as the miniseries’ executive producer. Lonesome Dove, based on Larry McMurtry’s classic saga and adapted for television by Wittliff, was nominated for 18 Emmy Awards. A reception will be held 4-6 p.m. Sunday, July 23, at Southlake Town Hall. Through Aug. 19

GRAPEFEST ‑ A TEXAS WINE EXPERIENCE

The 37th annual GrapeFest, sponsored by Bank of the West, brings in wines from around the world. Special tastings and family-friendly events will be part of the fun during the four-day festival. The People’s Choice Wine Tasting Classic, the largest consumer-judged wine competition in the nation, features Texas wines. Other events include the Champagne Cork Shoot-Off and the Grape Stomp. Sept. 14-17
