Becoming Jane: The Evolution of Dr. Jane Goodall

Perot Museum of Nature and Science 2201 N. Field St., Dallas, perotmuseum.org

The Perot celebrates its 10th anniversary with the Texas debut of a special exhibition showcasing the globally renowned conservationist most known for her work with chimpanzees in the wild. Produced in partnership with the National Geographic Society and the Jane Goodall Institute, the exhibit transports visitors of all ages to the African jungle through a multiscreen experience. There’s also a life-size replica of her research tent with hands-on activities, a hologram of Goodall at a makeshift campsite and another exhibit that uses interactive augmented reality to give guests a chance to match a chimp’s language. You’ll also learn about current work with chimpanzees by today’s scientists and conservationists. Tickets required in addition to general admission. Through Sept. 5

There’s a lot of sparkle and shine in this new exhibit, along with exquisite tailoring and artisan handwork, as “Dare to Wear” celebrates the unique fashion of cowgirls past and present. Several Hall of Fame honorees have loaned special pieces from their personal wardrobes, as have rodeo queens and icons from the world of music and film.
