Perhaps the most unlikely of films to garner a lot of buzz, Marcel could not get here fast enough for us. Marcel tackles tiny adventures with his grandmother, Connie, and their pet dust bunny, Alan. But the lonely group has lost their community to a mysterious tragedy. When a documentary filmmaker discovers the trio, Marcel — voiced by Jenny Slate, who also wrote and produced the film — begins to hope that he might find the rest of his family. Born of a 3-minute DIY video, the beloved character scrambles onto the big screen to rave reviews for the funny, feel-good mockumentary that’s really about finding connection in the smallest corners.
