FWSO music director Robert Spano kicks off his first full season with a crowd-pleasing lineup that sets the tone for the maestro’s artistic vision. For the opening weekend, Mexico native Jorge Federico Osorio is the featured solo pianist on Brahms’ “Emperor” concerto. The expanded symphonic season (from 10 to 11 weekends) includes a collaboration in April with Texas Ballet Theater. And next year’s gala, Feb. 25, features Yo-Yo Ma. Kevin John Edusei is the new principal guest conductor. Sept. 9-11
