FWO kicks off its season with an evening of traditional Spanish zarzuelas, musical theater that involves combinations of song and the spoken word. Soprano Catalina Cuervo and pianist Eduardo Rojas perform along with FWO’s Lesley Resident Artists. Oct. 21

Of Thee I Sing! Songs of Love & Justice

For its final fall offering, Fort Worth Opera moves to the Van Cliburn Concert Hall at TCU for this critically acclaimed program built around a Langston Hughes poem and a commissioned piece by American composer Scott Gendel. It stars pianist Michelle Cann and soprano Karen Slack, who also curated the recital with a focus on the theme that love is the key to liberty and justice. Nov. 13
