TINY BEAUTIFUL THINGS

Based on the book by Cheryl Strayed, Tiny Beautiful Things is a celebration of the simple beauty of being human. Adapted for the stage by Nia Vardalos and directed by Susan Sargeant, the funny and uplifting play follows Strayed’s journey as an anonymous advice columnist for “Dear Sugar.” Thousands of people turn to Sugar for wisdom, compassion and hope. The columnist never claims to have all the answers but draws on past experiences to bring light, laughter and humanity to others. Subject matter is intended for mature audiences.

MISS SAIGON (BROADWAY) & ONE HIT WONDERS OF THE 60S AND 70S (REID CABARET)
Miss Saigon, a tragedy of passion and beauty, takes the stage as part of Casa Mañana’s Broadway series. The musical follows the love story of Chris, an American soldier, and Kim, a Vietnamese girl, during the Vietnam War. It has been nominated for several Tony and Drama Desk awards. It is suitable for mature audiences. The Reid Cabaret Theatre will travel back in time while grooving through the music of the ’60s and ’70s, including fan-favorite songs such as Kung Fu Fighting, Spirit in the Sky, Ride Captain Ride and Afternoon Delight.

CHRISTOPHER CROSS & AIR SUPPLY AT BASS HALL

Christopher Cross, a five-time Grammy Award winner, and platinum-selling rock artists Air Supply are the featured musicians for the 2023 Legends Concert Series. This is the signature fundraising event for the University of North Texas Health Science Center, and benefits students and the establishment of HSC’s new College of Nursing. JPMorgan Chase & Co. is the sponsor. The Legends event has raised more than $2.5 million since launching in 2013. Premium seats in the orchestra pit, orchestra front and box tier are sold in VIP packages through HSC. HADESTOWN

Hadestown, winner of eight 2019 Tony Awards and the 2020 Grammy for Best Musical Theater Album, entwines two mythic tales — Orpheus and Eurydice and that of King Hades and his wife, Persephone — on a journey to the underworld and back. Anaïs Mitchell’s music and director Rachel Chavkin’s imagination pit industry against nature, doubt against faith and fear against love.

CONCERTS IN THE GARDEN SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL

Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra 330 E. 4th St., Fort Worth, 817-665-6000, fwsymphony.org The annual Fort Worth Symphony Orchestra Concerts in the Garden Summer Music Festival continues throughout June with eight more concerts. The FWSO will perform music from Chicago Nights, Led Zeppelin, the ’80s and Star Wars. Guest artists include Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Radio Highway, Classical Mystery Tour and country music star Pat Green. Each two-hour show starts at 8:30 p.m. and doors open at 6:30 p.m. The festival takes place in the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. The FWSO website has an event FAQ page. BALLET CONCERTO’S 41ST ANNUAL SUMMER DANCE CONCERT

Ballet Concerto’s annual concert returns, with performances of Spanish dance master Luis Montero’s Andalusian Suite; Irish Suite, choreographed by Dennis Spaight; and Dream On, choreographed by Elise Lavallee. All performances will begin at 8:30 p.m. at The Shops at Clearfork, 5188 Monahans Ave. Lawn seating is free. Reserved tables are available for purchase at balletconcerto.com.
