IKEA’s new Southlake store coming: Shop for delivery or scheduled pickup

Moving to be closer to its customers, IKEA plans to open a small-format store in Southlake late this year. But there’s another twist: instead of a sprawling building packed with goods, this will be one of IKEA’s Plan & order points combined with an IKEA Pick-up point.

Customers will find “home furnishing inspiration and personalized interior design planning” typical of IKEA’s Plan & order points, IKEA said. The Pick-up point will allow customers to pick up purchases they order onsite and online, IKEA said.

“While customers won’t take products home on their shopping day, orders can be delivered or scheduled to be picked up from the convenient Pick-up location next door,” IKEA said.

IKEA Southlake will be in 10,809 square feet of leased space in the Park Village shopping center at 1041 East Southlake Blvd, Suite 100 & 110, IKEA said. It will join two large-format IKEA stores in the DFW market, in Frisco and Grand Prairie.

“We’re excited to grow our presence and offer a new IKEA experience to our DFW area customers with convenience and accessibility in mind,” Javier Quiñones, CEO and chief sustainability officer of IKEA U.S., said. “Whether you’re looking for inspiration, need help from an IKEA design specialist or simply want to pick up an online order, the IKEA Southlake Plan & order point with Pick-up meets our customers where they are and how they like to shop.”

The new store helps IKEA “get closer to our DFW customers,” Rob Parsons, market area manager of IKEA U.S., said. “While the Plan & order point with Pick-up is different from our traditional IKEA store, we are continuously exploring new ways to bring IKEA closer to our customers and hope it will better meet the needs of our local customers.”
