The interior of Julian Rodarte’s new Trinity Groves restaurant, Temakeria, teleports you onto the pages of a black-and-white sketchbook where you and the Japanese hand rolls (shaped into half-moon nori taco shells) are the vivid-colored stars.

Everything on the white walls and wood-plank flooring was drawn by hand to create a surreal, comic book effect. Go for the scallops, but don’t skip the tonkotsu ramen. Rodarte and his team are doing big things here.
