Dallas music mogul Kim Forsythe, 30 years after launching Sambuca in Deep Ellum, returns with The Rayleigh Underground, a 38,000-sq-ft music and dining venue located below the outdoor deck of Las Colinas’ Toyota Music Factory. Crushed limestone walls and enormous video walls amplify the subterranean feel. Live music and a menu of Pacific Rim bites like kimchi flatbread and Korean fried chicken aim to elevate the dining experience beyond what’s typically served at music venues. Not every dish hits its mark, but Rayleigh’s dynamic lighting and terrific acoustic design may be the best in town.
