The winner of the PGA Tour’s 2024 Charles Schwab Challenge, May 23-26 at Colonial Country Club in Fort Worth, will walk away with prizes including a restored 1975 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray.

“This year’s champion’s prize pays homage to 1975, the year that helped reshape Wall Street, when regulated stock trading commissions came to an end and Chuck Schwab opened the doors to investing wider for individuals by reducing commissions,” Stacy Hammond, managing director and chief marketing officer of Charles Schwab, whose headquarters is in Westlake, said in a release.

Schwab announced the prize Wednesday. The tournament winner also will receive a $1.6 million cash prize.

County Corvette of West Chester, Pennsylvania, restored the 1975 “Schwab Stingray” and “modernized and loaded [it] with cutting-edge technology as a symbol of the firm’s commitment to innovation in service of its clients,” Schwab said.

The car features a GM LS3 V-8 motor that generates more than 450 horsepower, GM 6L90 6-speed automatic transmission, Schwab badging on the trunk, custom console with engraved champion’s nameplate, and hand-stitched interior upholstery with the Colonial’s Tartan Plaid trim, Schwab said.

Schwab, the Colonial’s title sponsor, began the car giveaway as part of the tournament winner’s prize package in 2019, with the restored 1973 Dodge “Schwab Challenger.” Cars given away since then: 1946 Schwab Power Wagon, 1979 Schwab Firebird, and 1973 Schwab Bronco.
