Embark on a summer of art and exploration at Meow Wolf Grapevine’s “The Real Unreal” immersive art experience

This summer, guests are invited to celebrate the one-year anniversary of Meow Wolf Grapevine’s “The Real Unreal” in a season filled with exploration, creativity, and wonder.

Located inside Grapevine Mills, “The Real Unreal” invites guests into the story of the Delaney and Fuqua families, residents of the house found inside Meow Wolf Grapevine, on a journey of encountering the extraordinary through mesmerizing, interactive artscapes.

The exhibit marks a new era of art and storytelling as a collaborative effort between more than 150 Texas and Santa Fe based artists. “The Real Unreal” follows the overarching story from “House of Eternal Return” in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and while each exhibit is different, elements from other locations sprinkled throughout continue the storyline and expand upon the Meow Wolf Universe.

Dozens of captivating spaces and installations welcome guests to lose themselves into the Delaney and Fuqua home with an array of colorful rooms in the interactive, choose-your-own-adventure museum.

Meow Wolf Grapevine has also unveiled a new addition to its artistic landscape this summer with a vivid new mural outside the exhibition in the Grapevine Mills parking lot. Made in collaboration with local artist Lauren Lewchuk, this vibrant artwork spans the adjacent parking area, enhancing your visit before even stepping inside.

Though guests spend an average of 90 minutes going through the experience, Meow Wolf’s team recommends planning for at least 2 hours to fully immerse yourself in each adventure.

Originally started in 2008 with a small collective of Santa Fe artists, Meow Wolf is now the No. 1 Immersive Experience in the country, with locations in Texas, Colorado, New Mexico, Nevada and California.

The concept is brought to life by more numerous full-time artists with experience in a huge range of media, including sculpture, painting, fabrication, digital art, writing, film, and many more.

  • Portals for everyone! And you get a portal! And you get a portal! – I loved how inviting and accessible The Real Unreal was. I was able to explore and travel through so many portals in my wheelchair. The story is so gripping and the art is breathtaking. I loved the whole vibe! I even kind of loved getting lost – several times! The employees were so engaging and seemed genuinely excited to be part of this exhibition. Their excitement and passion is contagious. Loved all the local food and drinks offerings and fun merchandise. – MElizabethGr
  • A unique and mind bending adventure through space and time – We really enjoyed the storyline to this portal. Very relatable to younger aged kids and kept my 10 year old son completely engaged in finding the real unreal. The Texas flare added to this location definitely gave it a cute southern twang. We really look forward to the other portals projected to open in the near future! – Gina J
