Fans of Reata can catch the downtown Fort Worth restaurant in its Sundance Square location until it closes June 30, and prepares for a move to the ground floor of The Tower nearby.

Reata will be on the ground floor of The Tower — the building was its original home before a tornado in March 2000 forced it out — while it searches for a permanent new home.

“This interim location will serve as a stepping stone before a more permanent flagship home is constructed,” Reata said.

The restaurant’s catering division, Reata on the Road, “will continue to operate seamlessly” during the transition, Reata said.

“Reata transcends physical boundaries,” Mike Micallef, president of Reata, said in a release. “It’s not just about the walls that house us, the western artifacts that adorn us, or the plates and cutlery that serve us. Reata embodies the spirit of Fort Worth. What truly defines us is our community. Our location may change, but the soul of Reata — the people — remains constant.”

Reata, after studying potential locations around Tarrant County, decided to remain in downtown Fort Worth.

“Our history with The Tower is both storied and strong,” Micallef said. “Like Fort Worth, Reata is a testament to resilience and rebirth.”
