Fort Worth neighborhoods to check out with the family this Christmas
The city of Fort Worth transforms into a winter wonderland during the holiday season with twinkling Christmas lights lighting up neighborhoods all over town. Whether you’re looking for a traditional holiday display or a more modern, over-the-top spectacle, Fort Worth has plenty of neighborhoods that go all out with Christmas decorations. Here are some of the best neighborhoods in to see Christmas lights:
Tell Family Lights
The family home near Keller Central High School is known for its annual synchronized Christmas lights show, but for good reason: they’ve also opened a brand new drive-thru event called Sugar Lane Lights in Haslet. The home can be found at 5016 Keating Street and lights are typically on from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday to Thursday and 5:30 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Since it is a residential area, be sure not to block anyone’s driveway. Follow their website or Facebook page for more information and updates.
Fairmount Historic District
Fairmount is Fort Worth’s first historic district and is known for its beautifully restored homes and unique architecture. During the holiday season, this neighborhood is a sight to behold, as many of the older homes are decked out with lights and vintage decorations. If you’re into a blend of old-fashioned charm and modern Christmas cheer, Fairmount is the place to be.
Ryan Place
Another historic Fort Worth neighborhood, Ryan Place will host their 40th annual Candlelight Christmas Home Tour on December 7-9. The tour includes a tour of five historic homes in the area and visitors can enjoy horse drawn carriage rides through the neighborhood as well as photo opportunities with Santa and food trucks. Tickets are required for the in-home tour but anyone is welcome to visit the neighborhood to enjoy the sights throughout the holiday season.
Montego Road
The 1100th block of Montego Road is a must-see and has gained quite a reputation for their light display over the last 15 years. The neighbors in this area band together to create a street-wide, magical experience including a synchronized light display of over 125,000 lights set to Christmas music.
Tanglewood Christmas Lights
The Tanglewood neighborhood, located in southwest Fort Worth, is famous for its extravagant Christmas light displays. Each year, the residents of Tanglewood go all out, transforming their homes into brightly lit masterpieces. The area draws large crowds who drive through the neighborhood to enjoy the festive atmosphere. With homes decorated to the nines, this is one of the best spots in Fort Worth for a festive holiday drive.
