Celebrating Dr. King: 5 Must-Attend MLK Events in Fort Worth for 2025

Fort Worth is set to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in January 2025 with a series of events that celebrate his contributions to civil rights and promote community unity. Here are five notable events to mark on your calendar:

MLK Hurray! at Northwest  

The Fort Worth Public Library’s Northwest Branch will host an educational event for children in kindergarten through grade five. Attendees will learn about Dr. King’s inspiring life through a presentation, followed by a craft activity designed to encourage children to dream big in his honor.

Greater Fort Worth MLK Jr. Gala

This black-tie event will feature live music, honor Martin Luther King Jr. honorees with awards, and present a prestigious scholarship to a deserving youth. The gala aims to unite people from diverse backgrounds to celebrate unity, equality and justice.

7th Annual MLK Parade & Celebration

This neighborhood parade promises a vibrant celebration of Dr. King’s legacy. The event is expected to feature local community groups, performances and activities that honor Dr. King’s contributions to civil rights.

MLK After Party

40th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade and Rally  

This parade will commence in downtown Fort Worth. Hosted by the Greater Fort Worth Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Committee, the event aims to highlight community unity and the enduring hope of Dr. King’s dream. Participants can expect floats, classic cars and walking groups celebrating Dr. King’s legacy.
