Fort Worth resident Loren Boyd’s journey of healing, growth, and intuition through yoga

Loren Boyd’s Fort Worth backyard feels like a Zen garden, the outer reflection of an inner peace she’s spent years cultivating. This same intuitive approach to creating healing spaces led her to establish The Studio, a yoga sanctuary in the Near Southside that recently expanded to include a second location outside Arlington.
Boyd’s journey to becoming a mindfulness-focused entrepreneur has been anything but linear. Born in Fort Worth, she grew up in Washington, where dance became her primary form of self-expression. Boyd cheered for the Seattle Seahawks before earning a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Washington; during this time, amid personal challenges, Boyd discovered yoga.
“I found yoga at just the right moment,” she says. “It was the first time I really paused and started to move inward and become more self-aware.”
Boyd earned a 200-hour certification in 2010 and began teaching at a Seattle studio.
A few years later, Boyd’s introspection led to a bold decision—she sold her car, packed two suitcases and moved to Costa Rica. She fell in love with the country on a prior visit and felt compelled to return indefinitely.
“I just made space for myself to decompress for a while and shift out of some of the patterns and behaviors I was stuck in,” she says.
While living abroad, Boyd embarked on a profound spiritual journey. Though she had no intention of moving back to the States, fate intervened when she fell in love, became pregnant with her son Julian and ultimately moved back to Fort Worth, where her father lived at the time.
“My son has brought me so much grounding,” Boyd says. “He is one of the greatest gifts in my life.”
After she had Julian, Boyd wanted to work while staying home with him. Having studied graphic design in college, she taught herself to use Adobe Creative Suite and began building websites and brands for entrepreneurs.
What started as a few referrals evolved into a thriving design business that continues growing today.
Meanwhile, Boyd began teaching at Yoga Project in Fort Worth, earning a 500-hour certification. When the owners closed the studio at the beginning of the pandemic in 2020, Boyd saw an opportunity to create something new. She leveraged her design expertise to build The Studio’s brand from scratch and started teaching pop-up classes at a local photography studio.
When another Fort Worth yoga studio owner wanted out of her lease on South Jennings Avenue, Boyd took over, cementing The Studio as a long-term investment. She handled everything herself—from building the branding, website and mobile app to recruiting teachers—ultimately creating a cohesive experience that would attract a robust and dedicated community of students. Though Boyd never planned to start a yoga business, The Studio celebrated its fourth anniversary last year.
“I think it’s so important not to be too attached to what you want your life to look like,” she says.
Boyd’s latest venture is a second location of The Studio in Pantego, which also emerged organically. When studio member Stacey Brown approached Boyd about opening another location, the alignment felt right. Under their agreement, Brown owns the new location while operating under Boyd’s brand and guidance.
“Ultimately, my purpose is to help people heal, reclaim their power, and build community,” Boyd says.
She’s now focused on growing membership at both locations while maintaining the intimate, welcoming and mindful atmosphere that makes The Studio unique.
Beyond The Studio, Boyd continues to offer web design and branding services, along with one-on-one life coaching through her personal brand, Practice with Loren. She’s developing additional wellness-based offerings with her partner, Cami Miller, a certified Holistic Health Coach, to serve the community further.
As she continues to operate a growing network of businesses, Boyd allows her intuition to guide her next steps.
“I just kind of live in the flow and follow what feels right,” she says. “I ask myself, ‘How do you want to feel in your life?’ And I trust that everything kind of falls into place around that.”
