You can almost feel summer in the air, right? There’s a shift from shivers to sweaters and then, bam! Suddenly, everyone’s getting married, graduating or celebrating because pool season is in view. That means one thing: you’re going to throw a party, or at least figure out what to bring to one. And a good party is in the details, especially keeping food and drinks at the right temperature. No one wants warm drinks or wilted salads. We’ve been testing two products from Revo Coolers that we think you’ll want to add to your party planning checklist.
Revo’s Party Barge Cooler is a definite improvement over flimsy Styrofoam boxes or plastic tubs. This 4-foot-long cooler is divided into three separate, insulated compartments. Like any good seamless cooler filled with ice, Revo’s can keep beverages slushy cold for hours. But here’s the kicker: it is designed to float. Imagine a boatload of mimosas or a Bloody Mary bar bobbing across your pool in a fancy open-top barge. We loved that it’s spacious enough to hold margaritas, canned beverages and entire bottles of wine for a decent-sized party. Our guests loved it too. Available in a range of bold colors, the Party Barge is a conversation starter, combining practicality with an unexpected “wow” factor.
Revo also makes a smaller product we like just as much. Their Dubler HEAT Flameless Chafer is about half the size of the Party Barge but engineered to keep food hot when needed. Its smaller size is more manageable for small parties and shaped to cradle those steel serving pans caterers often use at buffets. To keep food hot, the Dubler employs reusable heat packs that you microwave for a couple of minutes and then drop into the bottom. There are no open flames nor do you run the risk of running out of Sterno fuel.
The Dubler is sturdy enough for caterers to haul from one event to another, yet fancy enough to display at dinner parties. The real kicker, though, is that it doubles as a cooler. For an all-day event, it’s a clever way to keep food cold then swap in heat packs to keep food hot. We think that’s brilliant. Cold margaritas and guacamole during the day, then, when the sun goes down, convert to a taco bar.
Revo Coolers may not be a well-known brand yet, but their products are thoughtfully designed and practical. If you want to make your spring, summer and fall gatherings better, we think they’re a good investment.
