Texas Ballet Theater’s “International Woman” comes to Dallas
Explore the world with Texas Ballet Theater as International Woman features four distinct dances. “Shibuya Blues,” choreographed by Annabelle Lopez Ochoa from Belgium, analyzes connection in today’s world, eliciting moods that range from exhilarating to pensive. “Lamentation Variations” is an homage to the elegy of legendary American choreographer Martha Graham by three guest contemporaries. Graham’s final work, “Maple Leaf Rag,” entertains audiences of all ages with an exuberant and whimsical score. The show’s encore, “Jubala,” is a traditional African piece by Australian Natalie Weir celebrating motion through solos from the band’s choral and percussive sections.
