This year The John Zimmerman Group is on track to hit 200 million in closed sales, a company best, after implementing an AI management system to improve client service. They also use Compass Real Estate’s exclusive systems and technology to allow for easy, seamless transactions while expanding John’s referral network to reach more buyers — resulting in higher and better sales — across the country.
John Zimmerman majored in Finance with an emphasis on Real Estate at the University of Arkansas before a chance encounter led to working for Tim Fleet of Lackland Holdings. When he launched his own development company, he sold 1,000 acres of 1+ acre homes in Parker County and then, with his partners, developed Fort Worth’s luxury neighborhoods Montrachet, La Cantera and Montserrat.
In late 2011, John noticed the recession meant people were still selling and buying homes even though they weren’t building new ones. At the encouragement of friends, John added real estate brokerage as an additional service offered despite his own trepidation. “I realized it was my calling, I really like people,” John says. “I enjoy figuring out how to find creative, super beneficial solutions for them that make their life better.”
While John was successful and enjoyed his first year, his second year and every year following, he was the number one agent in Fort Worth and, in 2018, became the founding agent for Compass Real Estate Fort Worth. “It is completely different from any other brokerage,” John says. “It’s been a rocketship. It’s allowed me an opportunity to do things for my clients that no agent really can do.”
His proudest recent achievement is being named Fort Worth Inc.’s 2025 Entrepreneur of Excellence. “My work is unbelievably fulfilling. Every day brings excitement and new challenges.”
