WHATAZOO
By Meda Kessler
The second phase features the much anticipated Elephant Springs, which triples the size of the elephant yard and adds a massive pool and varied habitats. Its projected opening is spring 2021. Other improvements in the works as part of the project include a new big-cat attraction called Hunters of Africa & Asian Predators, with waterfalls and multiple swimming holes for animals such as striped hyenas, Malayan tigers and the clouded leopard. Forests & Jungles will be sited in the heart of the zoo, and visitors will wind their way through tree-lined trails surrounded by creatures from the world’s jungles and forests.
