While murals continue to pop up everywhere, Brennen Bechtol’s Nothing But Flowers — an oldie but a goody — makes us smile every time we drive or walk by. The bold lettering, the cheery colors, the sentiment: It’s a combination equivalent to a friendly hug, especially if we’re having a bad day. February is typically a busy time for floral designers, and chances are good that many of you will be getting a beautiful arrangement on Valentine’s Day. But if not, drive through The Foundry District in Fort Worth (the mural is on the corner of Whitmore and Carroll streets), and enjoy this big bouquet of love that never dies and doesn’t need water. If you want to see more of Bechtol’s word paintings, check out his 28 Mantras project in The Foundry, one for each day in February and painted in 2018. Or check him out at instagram.com/theotherbrennen to see more of his work in Fort Worth and Dallas.
