This gives new meaning to the baseball phrase “ducks on a pond.” The winged creatures who enjoy the solitude of an early morning swim in the Kimbell Art Museum’s reflecting pools are yearly visitors and a welcome sight to the Kimbell’s staff. We’ve spotted males as well as a female (or two). Honestly, we can’t quite tell them apart. They’re rather shy, preferring humans observe them from a distance. So, whenever we see them paddling about, we stand back to watch the action, rather than make an unforced error that would end the game.
