The Normal Brand arrives in Southlake without the usual fashion attitude. Noticeably missing loud logos and the palpable pressure to reinvent your closet.
They have something better: confidence.
Before the doors opened at 1232 Main Street, plenty of locals already owned a piece or two from the brand at home — a favorite hoodie, tossed on before school pickup, or a go-to t-shirt that’s easy and presentable whether running errands or traveling — you know, the normal stuff.
Recently, the brand unveiled its newest franchise storefront at Southlake Town Square.
Standing inside the shop this January, on a warmer-than-usual holiday morning, the concept is immediately clear. The clothes are built for life’s in-between moments — where most of life actually happens. And each piece is practical and comfortable, as required for everyday use.
The Normal Brand’s story began in 2015, when Jimmy Sansone quietly started selling “normal clothes, but better” from his parents’ basement. The idea was simple: create pieces you can wear anywhere, from the office to dinner, without much thought. Shortly after launching, Jimmy’s brothers Lan and Conrad joined him in running the business.
“We didn’t want fashion for fashion’s sake,” Conrad says. “We wanted clothes that work — that feel like they’ve already lived a day with you.”
Inside the Southlake shop, that philosophy is evident in every detail of the clothing. Sleeves relax at the wrist. Denim softens without losing structure. The now-signature Puremeso knit has the broken-in feel of a longtime favorite. Nothing shouts. Everything invites.
“If one person finds the piece they reach for three times a week, we’ve done our job,” Conrad says.
The build-out mirrors the clothes: handcrafted where it matters, unfussy everywhere else. Fixtures look worn on purpose. Antiques mix with new textures. The room feels curated, but lived-in — like the clothes.
Southlake made sense for the brand’s first Texas chapter. The town square draws families, travelers, and people who appreciate thoughtful design — especially when it’s understated.
“I’d always heard great things about Southlake and had visited the area in the past,” Conrad says. “When this opportunity came around, we were extremely excited to open our first store in Texas — it felt like a natural fit for what we do.”
The Normal Brand has grown steadily across the Midwest and Mountain West, but expansion isn’t its only prerogative. The team talks more about community than numbers — events, conversations, regulars who stop by simply because it feels good inside.
By the time you leave, it’s easy to forget you came in for clothes at all.
Maybe that’s the idea.
“We want every single person who walks in to leave feeling a little better than when they came in,” Conrad says. “And honestly, being in the store with my brothers and my parents when we opened in October was an absolute blast — this is a fun, impressive community. The people who showed up that night made our days better, too.”
The Normal Brand’s mission at its new location is to brighten people’s days, sell great clothes and have fun doing it through a lineup of soon-to-be-announced monthly in-store events. By partnering with local businesses and community groups to co-host and cross-promote those gatherings, the brand aims to keep the store experience fun, fresh and deeply connected to Southlake, with more details to come in the months ahead.
