North Texas readies for the global spotlight as World Cup demand soars

The FIFA World Cup 2026 is already smashing records. More than 150 million ticket requests poured in from fans across more than 200 countries during the first Random Selection Draw — the highest demand in FIFA World Cup history.

North Texas will be at the center of the action. Matches are set for AT&T Stadium in Arlington, placing the world’s most-watched sporting event squarely within reach of Dallas-Fort Worth fans and businesses.

The 2026 tournament, running from Jun. 11 to Jul. 19, will be the first to feature 48 teams and 104 total matches across 16 host cities in the United States, Canada and Mexico. Based on verified applications, the event is more than 30 times oversubscribed — a testament, says FIFA President Gianni Infantino, to the global excitement surrounding “the greatest and most inclusive show on the planet.”

The Random Selection Draw phase closed Jan. 13, with additional sales phases to follow as more tickets are released. Offerings will include team-specific seating, hospitality packages and the new Supporter Entry Tier, priced at $60 per match — even for the final.
