Crystal Wagner, Sublime

Fort Works Art 2100 Montgomery St., 817-759-9475, fortworksart.com

The California-based contemporary artist returns for her second show at Fort Works Art. Expect the unexpected as Wagner uses dimensional forms and alternative materials such as recycled plastic to create large-scale installations. The artist considers the shape and scale of the gallery when creating the form and flow of her work. Made of chicken wire and colorful party tablecloths, it’s eye-catching even when seen through the gallery windows. Through Oct. 15

If you can’t make it to Venice this summer, this exhibit gives you a taste of the European city. Goblets and mosaics are paired with prints and paintings from 19th-century American artists in an exploration of both Venetian glass and how the Italian city inspired these notable painters along with literature and design. Through Sept. 11
