Fort Worth’s famed neighborhood wine shop, Put a Cork in It, was serving knowledge and Bordeaux in October with another of its signature “Decanted Wine Classes.” The evening featured guest speaker Jean-Charles Cazes of Famille JM Cazes and Misa Imports, who guided attendees through side-by-side tastings of first and second labels from celebrated estates including Château Ormes de Pez, Château Haut-Batailley, and Château Lynch-Bages. Guests compared vintages and styles — even sampling a rare 1993 Lynch-Bages — while learning about terroir, winemaking technique and cellar potential.
Led by shop owner Chris Keel, the intimate classes bring wine lovers together to explore producers from around the world, from Oregon’s EIEIO to Champagne Duval-Leroy. Upcoming sessions round out the year with Willamette Valley Pinot Noirs and sparkling wines from the Côte des Blancs.
