The team behind Georgie and Le Bilboquet has launched Frenchie, a laid-back, all-day French brasserie in Preston Center. Talented chef Bruno Davaillon has crafted a menu that’s bold enough for dinner but still familiar. Daytime hours lean casual, with espresso, croissants, crepes and other café-style fare alongside lunch dishes like deviled eggs with espelette, quiche Lorraine and gougères. The menu also includes Croque Monsieur and Madame, and a proper chicken cordon bleu with celery rémoulade and arugula. Dinner brings brasserie classics like steak frites, escargots, roasted cod with melted leek and a fork-and-knife burger au poivre that’s a knockout. For dessert, don’t skip the chocolate fondant cake. The space takes cues from classic Parisian brasseries, adding pewter bar tops, rattan chairs, brass sconces, rounded booths and two welcoming patios. It’s everything a no-fuss French escape should be: familiar, flavorful and refreshingly easy to return to.
