Tickets for Grapevine’s North Pole Express on sale Oct. 1

By Joy Donovan Brandon

How fast does a snowball melt in Texas?

Pretty darn quick, but tickets for Santa’s North Pole Express sell out even faster. Be ready, moms and dads, at 10 a.m. Oct. 1, when the always-quick-to-disappear tickets go on sale for Santa’s North Pole Express.

The Grapevine Vintage Railroad will again jingle bells, sing songs and ho-ho-ho on the 1920s-era train cars beginning Nov. 28. With more daily departures than Santa’s sleigh on Christmas Eve, the express train comes packed with singing elves, Frosty’s Chocolate Snow Milk, “we believe” silver bells and even a visit from St. Nick himself.

Grapevine — also known as the Christmas Capital of Texas—is serving up more holiday cheer than Santa’s nice list. To add a little extra tinsel to Santa’s train ride, Oct. 1 is also the date tickets go on sale for other fun adventures. The Grapevine Convention and Visitors also will open ticket sales for the adults-only Christmas Wine Train, family holiday movies at the Palace Theatre, crafts and cartoons at Lancaster Theatre, Nash Farm holiday happenings, the Elf Adventure at Settlement to City Museum activities and other fun events. Tickets for other festive frivolity, including Christmas concerts at the Palace Theatre and ICE!, for some frigid fun at the Gaylord Texan Resort have been available since July.

Even though football season just kicked off, don’t get left out in the cold during the holiday season. Tickets for Grapevine’s holiday faves can be found at
