Former U.S. Secretary of State Rex W. Tillerson is the recipient of the 2025 Barry Corbin Award for Grit and Generosity. The award, named after actor and autism advocate Barry Corbin, recognizes individuals who demonstrate resilience, compassion, and impactful service.
Tillerson shared, “I’m humbled to receive the Barry Corbin Award for Grit and Generosity. The work Roundup for Autism is doing across Texas is truly inspiring. I’m grateful for the opportunity to stand alongside so many dedicated individuals making a meaningful impact in the lives of those living with autism.”
Tillerson’s career spans leadership roles at ExxonMobil and the 69th Secretary of State. He has long supported education and community initiatives through the Tillerson Foundation. His contributions reflect the spirit of the award and the mission of Roundup for Autism.
The award will be presented at the 2025 Roundup for Autism Gala this October, benefiting the Autism Treatment Center of Texas. Gala Co-Chairs Susan Maddox, Treasure Maddox Hannah, and Mercedes Maddox Bloomer continue the tradition of honoring advocates like Tillerson and 2024’s inaugural recipient, Keith Maddox.
“Rex Tillerson embodies the quiet strength and generosity that powers our mission,” said Bobby Norris, founder of Roundup for Autism.
