What to know about South African chain Nando’s Peri-Peri that’s now open in Addison

Nando’s Peri-Peri, an international South African chain, recently opened in Addison’s Village on the Parkway with the lure of something not commonly found in DFW’s robust dining scene: grilled chicken slicked with big-flavored, peppery sauces.

The flavor (and heat) are amped up by South African peri-peri peppers, a close relative of the tabasco pepper. Basting sauces range from mild mango to fiery hot (you choose). All of them are addicting.

While Nando’s specialty is deeply marinated chicken, the salads, sandwiches, wraps and pastel de nata, the famous Portuguese baked custard dessert, are equally compelling. We love this place.
