A Valentine’s Day gathering need not be an intimate affair. It’s the perfect occasion for a party. Our dessert table typically includes two offerings: a cloudlike angel food cake and a rich, chocolaty devil’s food cake. Charissa Christopher of Feastivities Gourmet-to-Go Market & Catering in Fort Worth offers a dessert that nicely amps up our sweets menu: a coffee angel food cake topped with a rich, java-spiked icing (we added a few chocolate-covered espresso beans for presentation). It packs more punch than the traditional light, white cake, but isn’t as sweet as the chocolate one. Think of it as splitting the difference between being very good and being very bad.
