CRAVINGS

We’ve Got Legs

Cancellation of fairs and festivals means we’re keeping our arteries safe from corny dogs, fried butter, funnel cakes and other delicacies best enjoyed after that roller coaster ride. We do miss turkey legs, although we wish there were options other than smoked. It might be blasphemy, but we love a big slow-roasted drumstick (375 degrees for about an hour, covered, and then another 30 minutes naked) that has been marinated in lemon, soy sauce, honey, cumin and garlic. And while we’re at it, we toss a couple of turkey wings on the baking sheet, too. They’re underappreciated and oh, so delicious. Photo by Meda Kessler
