Guests savored the tastes and colors of autumn during the Fort Worth Botanic Garden’s Fall Japanese Festival, held Nov. 1–2 in partnership with the Fort Worth Japanese Society. The two-day celebration offered a feast for the senses, with the air scented by matcha and grilled yakitori as festivalgoers sampled authentic dishes crafted by members of the Japanese Society and local Asian food trucks.
Sponsored by Ito En, the event paired culinary delights with cultural immersion, from tranquil tea ceremonies to martial arts performances and calligraphy displays. Visitors wandered through vendor stalls offering handmade kimonos, art, and ceramics before pausing in the Japanese Garden — recently named the most peaceful place in Texas by Earth.fm — for a cup of green tea under fiery autumn maples.
The festival celebrated the Year of the Wood Snake, symbolizing transformation and reflection — fitting themes for an event that invites guests to slow down, savor the season, and experience Japanese culture through its most flavorful traditions.
