Can’t decide whether you want to travel on a sailing yacht, an expedition vessel, or an ultra-luxury cruise ship? The Atlas Adventurer combines all three. Outfitted with three massive sails, it’s powered by the wind (plus backup engines) and will explore off-the-beaten-path destinations including Madagascar, Indonesia, and the Arctic. Bookings have just opened for its debut season in 2028.

America has the Appalachian Trail—and now Europe has the Wolf Trail, a 2,170-mile hiking route that connects six countries: Italy, Slovenia, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and Poland. Hikers will trek through some of Europe’s most captivating landscapes, including the Bavarian Black Forest and Slovenia’s spectacular Triglav National Park.

Every room includes a private, open-air bath fed by volcanic hot-spring water at Aso Retreat by Onko Chishin, a 17-room retreat in Japan that launches early next month. Situated inside an enormous caldera in an active volcanic landscape, the mountain-view hideaway offers guided seasonal foraging and an edible garden for guests.

Quiet and secluded, La Sagesse Beach on the island of Grenada has long been a natural haven for its calm, shallow waters—and with the debut of InterContinental Grenada Resort & Spa, the Caribbean enclave takes a luxurious turn. You’ll find an idyllic beach club, swimming pool, and indulgent spa treatments infused with island botanicals.

You can now sleep atop a 12th-century tower at Les Hauts de Sancerre, a tiny new five-star hotel in the Loire Valley. The eight-room chateau overlooks some of France’s most famous vineyards and dishes out gastronomic delights at L’Atelier du Cèdre, led by Michelin-starred chef Eddy Münster and his son Arnaud, a Top Chef finalist.

For fine wines a little closer to home, the Fredericksburg Food & Wine Festival on October 22-25 showcases Viogniers, Mourvèdres, and Grenaches from more than three dozen Hill Country wineries. New this year: the Rosé Garden, a wild boar rotisserie demo by James Beard Award winner Jesse Griffiths, and a late-night Après Garden Party with martinis and artisan cheeses.

Located on the absurdly beautiful islands of the Seychelles, the new La Réserve Private Homes Seychelles evoke the castaway vibe of Robinson Crusoe—minus the goat hunting and wood chopping. Instead, you’ll find six private, fully staffed villas with every creature comfort you can imagine. Giant tortoises roam the island next door.
