Bobby Norris

First and foremost, I am a husband and father. I’ve spent a lifetime ranching and working around cattle, land and horses. Today, I own Bobby Norris Farm and Ranch Realty, serve on boards dedicated to preserving Western heritage, and support charitable efforts, including the Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism, which I founded nearly 40 years ago.

PRESSING QUESTIONS

How I knew this was my passion

I grew up around land and livestock. It was always part of my life, and I knew early this was the work I wanted to do.

Biggest challenges in my career

Uncertainty. Land, markets, and timing can shift quickly. You have to stay steady and make decisions that hold up over time.

My first job and what it taught me

Ranch work. It taught me discipline, responsibility, and the importance of helping others. Show up early, do the job right, and take care of people along the way.

A nonprofit I wish more people knew about

Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism. It brings people together to support families navigating life with autism, helps fund the Autism Treatment Center, and reminds people they are never alone.

What keeps me coming back to my job every day

Helping people find a farm and ranch property they can call home. The land comes with responsibility. You are taking care of something that matters and carrying on a way of life.

Best career moment so far

Watching the Bobby Norris Roundup for Autism impact generations of families and bring this community together year after year.

A skill I never expected to need in this field

Fundraising. It takes relationships, trust and the ability to bring people together around something that matters.

One practice I use to maintain my mental health

Spending time outside. The land has a way of resetting everything.

Best advice I ever received

Your word is your reputation. Keep it.

The one thing I wish people knew about my field

It is not just buying and selling land. It is stewardship, patience, and long-term relationships.

The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall

Step away, get outside, and focus on the next right move.
