Southern Swooner serves up comfort food in Irving

Serving generous portions of from-scratch cooking, Asheville, N.C.-based Tupelo Honey has planted a flag in Las Colinas, its second Texas location.

The menu leans decidedly Southern. Popular items include fried green tomatoes, honey-fried chicken and buttermilk biscuits.

We’re smitten with the shrimp and grits, but on a recent visit, other guests were swooning over waffles stuffed with mac-and-cheese, and the Peach Don’t Kill My Vibe Sangria, crafted with sweet peach puree, pineapple juice, Tupelo’s housemade honey liqueur and sparkling wine.
