RUSSELL B. WEBB
Managing Partner
Silver Oak Commercial Realty

I began my real estate career in 2001, building on a lifelong background in commercial property management and ranching. In 2011, I co-founded Silver Oak Commercial, a full-service brokerage specializing in commercial, investment, property management, and farm and ranch real estate across Texas.
PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I knew this was my passion
Watching my father’s success in real estate inspired me to pursue the business myself. The relationships, challenges, and ever-changing nature of the industry continue to make every day rewarding and exciting.
Biggest challenges in my career
As business costs continue to rise, traditional real estate commission structures remain largely unchanged. Success today requires valuing time, evolving services, and working smarter to best serve clients.
My first job and what it taught me
My first job with an oil and chemical company taught me the value of hard work, face-to-face meetings, and strong communication, principles that still guide my real estate career today.
A Nonprofit I Wish More People Knew About
Make-A-Wish North Texas and Roundup for Autism both make a tremendous impact in our community. Hundreds of North Texas children are still waiting on wishes and critical autism support services.
What Keeps Me Coming Back Every Day
I enjoy the challenge, relationships, and strategy behind every transaction. Seeing a complex real estate deal successfully come together is still one of the most rewarding parts of the business.
Best Career Moment so far
Co-founding our firm after spending 10 years with a larger company was a defining moment in my career.
A Skill I Never Expected to need in this field
Accounting has become an essential part of both running a business and managing investment properties. It’s a skill I rely on daily more than I ever expected.
One Practice I Use to Maintain Mental Health
Spending time at our family ranch helps me clear my mind, recharge, and reconnect with the slower pace and perspective that come with being outdoors.
Best Advice I Ever Received
My father always told me, ‘No one said life would be fair. Play the cards the world gives you each day.’ — the late David R. Webb
The one thing I wish people knew about my field
Our time is as valuable as a CPA or lawyer. We spend time working with and for our clients. I believe hourly billing should sometimes complement commissions.
The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall
I take a step back, weigh the pros and cons, and avoid making decisions in the heat of the moment. If possible, I give myself 24 hours before making an important decision.
A quote or mantra I live by
Be a giver, not a taker.
