PRESSING QUESTIONS

How I knew this was my passion

I knew this was my passion when I realized I could combine my competitive drive with serving people — fighting for others, solving problems, and making a real difference in my community daily.

Biggest challenges in my career

Balancing family, serving my community, and advocating for clients through some of life’s hardest moments, while earning trust as a trial attorney in Texas, has been my greatest challenge and motivation.

My first job and what it taught me

My first job was at a daycare, preparing lunches and cleaning. It taught me no responsibility is too small — every role matters, and strong teams rely on each person doing their part well.

A nonprofit I wish more people knew about

I’m fortunate to serve with many great local nonprofits. I’d encourage everyone to find a mission that resonates with them and get involved — there’s always a way to make a meaningful impact.

What keeps me coming back to my job every day

What keeps me coming back every day is making a difference — righting wrongs, giving a voice to people who feel unheard, and doing work I genuinely love alongside people I deeply respect.

Best career moment so far

Playing a role in creating the Athena Alert has been one of my recent proudest career moments. It showed how advocacy for one client can create lasting change for families across Texas for generations.

One practice I use to maintain my mental health

One practice I use to maintain my mental health is unplugging and being fully present with my family — or enjoying a round of golf when the Texas heat allows it.

Best advice I ever received

The best advice I ever received was: no one can be you better than you. Be yourself, stay authentic, and never try to be someone you’re not.

The one thing I wish people knew about my field

I wish more people understood the secondhand trauma trial lawyers carry. Walking alongside clients through life-changing situations can take a real toll if you don’t maintain healthy habits and balance.

The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall

I step away and do something completely unrelated to work. Right now, that usually means walking my dog along the Trinity Trails to clear my mind and reset.
