ALEXANDRA DE LEON
Co-Founder and Managing Principal
MCM University and MCM Capital Funding

I helped scale my family’s business, MCM Real Estate Services, into a thriving Fort Worth investment company focused on revitalizing homes and strengthening neighborhoods. My dad and I later co-launched MCM University to guide everyday people into real estate investing and create opportunities for financial growth within our community. MCM Capital Funding makes those opportunities accessible with trustworthy, local financing.

PRESSING QUESTIONS
How I knew this was my passion
I was raised on community. I found my passion in helping others grow by building pathways for everyday people to create their own real estate investment portfolios and long-term wealth.
Biggest challenges in my career
One of the biggest challenges has been making sure we’re not just growing, but growing the right way. Staying true to serving people while scaling is really important to us.
My first job and what it taught me
My first job at Sonic taught me the importance of being on time, customer service, communicating and most importantly, dependability. Every role matters and each person plays a critical role.
A nonprofit I wish more people knew about
Catholic Charities Fort Worth, especially their Gabriel Project and Refugee Program. They do incredible work supporting families in our community and are led by the most dedicated people.
What keeps me coming back to my job every day
Family. Not just my own, but the families we serve every day and the role we get to play in helping them build something meaningful for their future.
Best career moment so far
When we meet someone who heard about us through a colleague or from someone in the community. Knowing one meaningful interaction turned into a referral is the biggest compliment.
A skill I never expected to need in this field
Emotional intelligence. Real estate investing is personal, and being able to meet people where they are and guide them through those emotions is critical.
One practice I use to maintain my mental health
It may sound silly, but keeping my home clean makes a big difference. After long days, coming back to a space that feels calm and organized helps clear my mind.
Best advice I ever received
Take the risk. Some of the best things in life come from stepping into the unknown.
The one thing I wish people knew about my field
That it’s really about people — not the numbers. Every deal, every project, every decision impacts someone’s life in a real way.
The first thing I do to course-correct when I hit a wall
I panic briefly (LOL), then reset. As a verbal processor I chat it out or send myself a voice-note email, then revisit it the next day with a clearer mind.
